FUNCTION: Supervise, coordinate, coach and mentor the completion of work assigned to the Finish Department including establishing work schedules and assignments to meet production goals. Confer with management and participate in employment-related issues for people within the department including but not limited to hiring decisions, promotional candidates, performance issues, and employee complaints. Coordinate on-the-job training for employees within the department as needed. Provide expertise and technical knowledge in cabinetry Finish Room operations. Supervisory experience in Finish operation a plus. Monitor and enforce safety and housekeeping regulations within the department. Confer with other supervisors and managers to coordinate operations and activities within and between departments. Monitor work activities within the department to insure production requirements, product quality and efficiency are met. Participate in and have a working knowledge of continuous improvement initiatives including lean manufacturing and kaizen events as well as 5-S programs and other production improvement processes.
REQUIREMENTS: The preferred candidate must exhibit strong leadership skills including a personal sense of responsibility and accountability. Excellent organizational and communication skills (both written and verbal) are also required. Must exhibit good time-management and prioritization skills, as well as an understanding of continuous improvement manufacturing principles. Prior supervisory or lead experience a plus. Ability to speak Spanish a plus. We will not pay relocation costs for this position. |
