Description   Job Summary: Under the direction of Engineering, the primary job focus will be to define, draft, develop and implement technical solutions to a wide variety of electrical and manufacturing problems in support of existing machinery. A. REQUIREMENTS: 1. Job related skills ! AutoCAD or equivalent CAD system proficiency. ! Other Computer skills to support use of CAD such as Inventor. ! Microsoft Office or comparable proficiency. ! Strong interpersonal skills (interfaces continually with shop, purchasing and vendors) ! Detail oriented. ! Strong organizational skills. ! Strong analytical skills. ! Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to demonstrate skill in communicating with supervisors and co-workers. Must express criticisms & concerns in a way that promotes teamwork and a positive work environment. 2. Experience/knowledge ! Previous engineering design or manufacturing experience required. ! Electrical engineering design or manufacturing experience required. ! Proven ability to evaluate/assess a wide variety of technical issues. ! Proven ability to troubleshoot industrial/automotive electrical circuits and systems. 3. Education ! Associate's Degree with 5 years experience in a manufacturing company engineering department. Degree not essential if experience is equivalent. Typically 10 years total experience minimum. ! Accredited College or University preferred. 4. Personality ! Personable & diplomatic. ! Able to cope with pressures & deadlines. ! Flexible, able to adapt to rapidly changing situations. ! Able to multi-task at a high level, and respond to various changing priorities. ! Self starter. ! Work independently. B. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Working primarily with Continuation Engineering, define, develop and implement technical solutions to a wide variety of manufacturing problems. In support of existing machinery, provide technical assistance in the area of electrical design, creation/modification of assembly and installation drawings, material procurement, construction and testing. Provide technical assistance to Service and Production to include component and system troubleshooting. Assist production to help define assembly workmanship standards and quality control processes and procedures. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Continual 67-100% of the day Frequently 34-66% Intermittent 1-5% Occasional 6-33% (EACH ITEM BELOW VARIES FROM DAY TO DAY AND FROM DUTY TO DUTY) The majority of hours each day will be spent on the computer & telephone. 1. Sitting - Frequently to continual Surface - chair Foot control - feet rest on the floor 2. Standing - Intermittent to occasional Surface - concrete floor, carpeted floor 3. Walking - Occasional Surface - carpeted floor, concrete floor Distance - 1 ft. to 1000 ft. or more at a time 4. Lifting - Intermittent Weight - up to 25 lbs. Objects lifted - include, but not limited to, manuals and miscellaneous other objects. Intermittent overhead lifting. 5. Carrying - Intermittent Weight - up to 25 lbs. Objects carried - include, but not limited to, manuals and miscellaneous other objects. Distance - 1 ft. to 1000 ft. 6. Pushing/Pulling - Intermittent or not applicable 7. Reaching/Handling with Both Hands & Arms - Frequent to continual Distance - from telephone to printer. 8. Repetitive Fine Manipulation of Hands - Frequently to continual Computer entry. 9. Bending/Squatting - Intermittent 10. Twisting - Intermittent, if at all 11. Climbing - Intermittent 12. Crawling - Intermittent, if at all 13. Environmental Factors - Indoor office; (noise, welding lights, grinding dust, & diesel fumes, when entering the shop to communicate with production or service employees) Hearing protection and eye protection must be worn at all times in shop or production areas. Safety-toed work shoes/boots are required to be worn in shop or production areas. 14. Machines/Tools/Equipment used as part of the job - Computer, copy machine and printers.
