SR. ELECTRICAL ENGINEER
Job Purpose
• The lead engineer will be responsible for the design of the power and control systems for a variety of industrial projects. He will both provide electrical power and control design and mange other engineers, designers and drafters.
Working Relationships
• This position reports to the Electrical Engineering Manager but at times will work for other project managers.
Job Task
• Power system design and power system calculations (short-circuit, arc flash, load flow, voltage drop, ground resistance using EDSA or EasyPower
• Control system design, PLC & HMI programming,
• Coordinate electrical design with other disciplines,
• Plan work for designer/drafters,
• Develop budgets and track progress
• Review design concepts,
• Provide technical interface with clients.
• Manage and direct engineering staff, designers and drafters
• Develop project design budgets.
• Develop project capital and operating budgets.
• Understand industrial equipment operation and issues
• Optimize designs to reduce capital and operating costs for our clients while providing quality engineering and project managethent.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes including NEC and NFPA
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and client safety requirements and policies in our designs.
• Work with marketing staff to promote Evergreen Engineering and secure future work.
• Prepare project scopes, proposals, specifications and documents for boiler and energy related projects.
People Skills
• Accept responsibility for actions of self and project team
• Honest and open communication.
• Make presentations to clients and potential clients. Experience, Training and Technical Skills
• Register professional electrical engineer
• A minimum 15 years of related experience
• Computer skills should include: AutoCAD, Microsoft Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, EDSA or EasyPower.
Salary
Full time position at $90,000/year plus benefits depending on experience |
