Job Title: Application Developer
Position Type: Permanent
Pay Rate: Negotiable
POSITION SUMMARY:
Work individually and as a member of a development team to design, develop and maintain customized business application software. Act as leader on minor system development projects and will be involved in all aspects of the development process, including: Architecture, design, development, system testing and all other aspects of software life cycle management. Coordinate the implementation of databases to meet Clients needs. Perform duties within a multi-function, cross-division, or mission critical environment. Use Visual Studio 2003 (or later) and other development tools. Also have a working knowledge of TSQL for MS SQL 2000 / 2005. Work closely with Business Analysts and end-users.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
• Develop application systems using a variety of software development tools, including ASP.Net, C# or VB.Net, Transact SQL and others.
• Perform systems analysis
• Maintain and enhance existing systems
• Develop technical documentation for systems
• Participate in long-term systems architecture planning and business object/class design in a client server and/or multi-tier environment
PREFERRED JOB SKILLS:
An Application Developer must possess the following qualifications
• This position requires knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures used in programming.
• Experience leading complex system projects preferred. Bachelors degree in a related field; a minimum of four years experience in the analysis, design, coding and testing of integrated computer systems; or any work experience and/or training that would likely provide the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
• Advanced programming skills in .NET technologies, including skills in C#, ASP.NET, SOAP web services, XML/XSLT, ColdFusion and JavaScript a plus.
• Experience with other web development technologies, including IIS, ASP, VB, SQL Server, JavaScript, HTML, XML and CSS.
• Demonstrated understanding of software development methodologies, programming concepts, design patterns, and database design.
• An Application Developer III must be capable of relying upon experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• This person will have the opportunity to perform a variety of tasks under only general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected/required.
o This person can perform a variety of complicated tasks with little supervision.
o This person is capable and willing to lead and direct the work of others when required.
• Advanced knowledge of systems analysis
• Experience in Transact SQL and Database development/architecture experience is a strong plus.
• Software engineering skills and knowledge
• Thorough knowledge of system development methodologies
• Excellent customer service skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in an environment with diverse individuals and groups
• Ability to manage multiple tasks
• Ability to work timely and efficiently in a rapidly-changing environment. |
